Mayor Neal Linnartz will address the crowd at 6:30 p.m. where he will count down and flip the switch\, turning on the dazzling display of lights downtown. After the lights are on\, Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive on a New Braunfels Fire Department fire truck and make his way to the NBU parking lot where families will have a chance to have their photo taken with Santa. The New Braunfels Community Band and the Canyon High School Steel Drum Band will provide entertainment until 8:30 p.m. \nPhotos\nPhotos will take place at the NBU parking lot near Main Plaza. Photos are $10 each\, with the proceeds benefitting the New Braunfels Parks Foundation. Please note that only credit card/debit card payments will be accepted\, and no one will be allowed to enter the line after 8:30 p.m. (those already in line at 8:30 p.m. will still be served). \nFood!\nEnjoy sausage on a stick\, snacks\, and hot chocolate for sale by the New Braunfels Downtown Association! You’ll be making downtown an even better place with every bite.   \nShuttle\nA free shuttle will be available from 5:30-9:30 p.m.  The shuttle will pick up riders at City Hall\, 550 Landa Street\, and drop off at West Mill Street.

DESCRIPTION:Formed in 2020 by two brothers and a medicine man\, the Staudt Brothers are an electric 5-piece band that hail from the coastal plains of Victoria\, Texas and have quickly earned a reputation for their show-stopping live performances at some of the premier venues in the Lone Star state. The Staudt Brothers have crafted a signature sound that blends elements of Country\, Southern Rock\, and Folk. Electric guitars run hard edged riffs balanced by the more traditional acoustic tones of mandolin. Comprised of Caleb Staudt (vocals and guitars)\, John White (mandolin)\, Chris Benson (guitars)\, David Stockton (bass guitar and vocals) and Matthew Groll (drums) the band has an unwavering commitment to authenticity and independent artistic expression. The soundscape the band creates is a reflection of the music they enjoy. Part Marshall Tucker and the Outlaws mixed with the contemporary “working man” song writing style common to red dirt and Americana music. The band incorporates pure rock and roll riffs with songwriter sensibilities; and with two electric guitars on stage\, unafraid to layer the grit on thick. Native Texans one and all\, the band members are all veterans of the Texas music scene with years of experience in other projects prior to forming the Staudt Brothers. “Black Swans” a five song EP recorded at yellow Dog studios in Wimberly Tx\, with veteran producer Adam Odor was released in 2020 with the release of the full album “Livewire Priest” recorded at Smilin Castle in Kyle Tx and produced by Zack Kibodeaux\, Greg Essington\, and Kyle Smith released April 2024.

DESCRIPTION:John Boyd is the lead singer and founder of the San Antonio-based band 80’s and 90’s tribute band Passing Strangers who have graced the Texas club scene for more than 30 years. They play everything from Jessie’s Girl to Third Eye Blind and are often referred to as “a band version of Spazmatics.” The band is perhaps most well-known for its electronic remake of Gary Wrightʼs “Dream Weaver” from their debut EP “Moment In Time.” This song was a club hit and added to radio across the U.S. and parts of Europe. John Boydʼs voice has been compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley\, and U2’s Bono. Passing Strangers was an active part of the Dallas music community for 14 years\, and the Boulder/Denver music scene for 3 years. After five albums\, two decades of frequent performances\, tours of the U.S.\, and shows overseas\, John returned to the home of his childhood in the San Antonio/Austin area in 2010. In 2013 he teamed up with co-writer and guitarist Ray Tamez\, and producer Mattson Rainer (from KNBT) for his first John Boyd solo album entitled “Passing Strangers and Funny People.”

Homer was a working musician in the Dallas Fort Worth area before moving to San Antonio; Phil has performed with a multitude of bands in and around the San Antonio and Houston areas as a Texan born resident of Houston before moving to San Antonio; Alan is a San Antonio transplant from the Midwest via Los Angeles where he worked with a myriad of recording musicians\, including Kenny Loggins\, The Motels\, Pat Metheny\, Tom Scott\, Gene Simmons of KISS and Rick Nelson among many others. The genre of music of pop classic rock music spans the gamut from the 60’s through turn of the 21st century hits. The band has a large repertoire\, a large following and tries to accommodate most requests.
