DESCRIPTION:Excitement is building as the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild is busy making final preparations for their much-anticipated QuiltFest 2024\, which will take place at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center on Friday\, July 26th and Saturday\, July 27th\, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. \nFounded in 1982\, the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild is home to a group of 174 local quilters who meet monthly and participate in community service projects such as Story Book Quilts\, Quilts for Those in Need\, Habitat for Humanity\, and Hope Hospice.  Through their work\, the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild hopes to share an appreciation for the art of quilting\, improve education on quilting techniques among the quilting community and the public\, and expand knowledge of the historical significance of quilting as not only a necessity but an art form that is woven into the very fibers of our history. \nQuiltFest 2024 is the Guild’s largest fundraising event.  This year’s theme is “Peace\, Love\, and Flower Power”.  Held biennially\, QuiltFest 2024 will offer over 180 quilts on display for the public.  Quilts are entered and judged in categories divided by size\, technique\, theme\, group\, and more.  A stunning Guild donation raffle quilt will also be display\, and tickets will be available for purchase at the show. \nIn addition to viewing these breathtaking works of local textile art\, QuiltFest 2024 offers the opportunity to shop with vendors who will be set up to offer a variety of creative products and services to quilters and the community.  Vendors will also offer demonstrations on the ballroom stage throughout the two-day event. \nThe New Braunfels Quilt Guild will be offering a boutique of handmade items and quilts for sale\, as well as an Emporium\, which is a popular thrift store-type environment that offers quilting fabric\, notions\, and much more.  On the Ballroom stage\, the Guild will have scheduled antique bed turnings.  Bed turnings allow guests to immerse themselves in the stories of historical quilts and teachings of construction and materials used.  Each bed turning will showcase different quilts. \nBe sure to visit the Guild’s groovy photo booth located in the Exhibit Hall for a quick selfie or photo with friends\, and grab something to eat and a beverage at the snack bar\, which is hosted this year by the North Shore United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men of Canyon Lake.  Profits from the snack bar will be donated to local missions focused on the needs of the entire family. \nQuiltFest 2024 admission tickets are $10 per person\, and children 10 and under enter free.  The New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center is located at 375 South Castell Avenue.  If you are interested in purchasing donation raffle quilt tickets\, they are available at the event for $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. \nThe New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild would like to personally invite community members to come out and enjoy a family-friendly day of locally crafted quilts and fun.  We hope to see you there! \nFor more information on the event\, please email nbaqgpublicity@gmail.com or visit our website at www.newbraunfelsareaquiltguild.org.

DESCRIPTION:Excitement is building as the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild is busy making final preparations for their much-anticipated QuiltFest 2024\, which will take place at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center on Friday\, July 26th and Saturday\, July 27th\, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. \nFounded in 1982\, the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild is home to a group of 174 local quilters who meet monthly and participate in community service projects such as Story Book Quilts\, Quilts for Those in Need\, Habitat for Humanity\, and Hope Hospice.  Through their work\, the New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild hopes to share an appreciation for the art of quilting\, improve education on quilting techniques among the quilting community and the public\, and expand knowledge of the historical significance of quilting as not only a necessity but an art form that is woven into the very fibers of our history. \nQuiltFest 2024 is the Guild’s largest fundraising event.  This year’s theme is “Peace\, Love\, and Flower Power”.  Held biennially\, QuiltFest 2024 will offer over 180 quilts on display for the public.  Quilts are entered and judged in categories divided by size\, technique\, theme\, group\, and more.  A stunning Guild donation raffle quilt will also be display\, and tickets will be available for purchase at the show. \nIn addition to viewing these breathtaking works of local textile art\, QuiltFest 2024 offers the opportunity to shop with vendors who will be set up to offer a variety of creative products and services to quilters and the community.  Vendors will also offer demonstrations on the ballroom stage throughout the two-day event. \nThe New Braunfels Quilt Guild will be offering a boutique of handmade items and quilts for sale\, as well as an Emporium\, which is a popular thrift store-type environment that offers quilting fabric\, notions\, and much more.  On the Ballroom stage\, the Guild will have scheduled antique bed turnings.  Bed turnings allow guests to immerse themselves in the stories of historical quilts and teachings of construction and materials used.  Each bed turning will showcase different quilts. \nBe sure to visit the Guild’s groovy photo booth located in the Exhibit Hall for a quick selfie or photo with friends\, and grab something to eat and a beverage at the snack bar\, which is hosted this year by the North Shore United Methodist Women and United Methodist Men of Canyon Lake.  Profits from the snack bar will be donated to local missions focused on the needs of the entire family. \nQuiltFest 2024 admission tickets are $10 per person\, and children 10 and under enter free.  The New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center is located at 375 South Castell Avenue.  If you are interested in purchasing donation raffle quilt tickets\, they are available at the event for $1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets. \nThe New Braunfels Area Quilt Guild would like to personally invite community members to come out and enjoy a family-friendly day of locally crafted quilts and fun.  We hope to see you there! \nFor more information on the event\, please email nbaqgpublicity@gmail.com or visit our website at www.newbraunfelsareaquiltguild.org.

The 5-piece band’s loud stage presence of three electric guitars draws them immediate comparisons to bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin. However\, lead singer and primary writer\, Nyles Robakiewicz is not afraid to slow things down and pull out the acoustic and sing some more intimate songs influenced by his likes of Jason Isbell and Ryan Bingham. Shaker Hymns will be releasing a full length LP in 2020 produced by Josh Serrato and Ben Hussey but for now\, check out their debut EP “Honey” on all platforms.

Although the two of them haven’t officially recorded in the studio together\, Jesse and Joshua are currently releasing videos from a live show they performed together this spring.
