DESCRIPTION:DepartureATX is a Texas-sized tribute band dedicated to the music of Journey and other favorite artists of the Arena Rock era. The seeds were planted in 2010\, when long-time friends Joel Godson (Bass/Backing Vocal) and Jesse Monaghan (Lead Guitar) were looking to form a Journey tribute band and teamed up with various players for a few years until finally connecting with cover scene veterans\, Mark Ramsey (Keys/backing vocal) and Scott Olsen (Drums/backing vocal). Ramsey reached out to a friend\, Ryan Holley (Lead Vocal)\, and DepartureATX was formed. Since its debut in 2015\, the Austin TX-based band has gained a wide and loyal fan base and now regularly travels throughout the state\, performing on large stages in big cities and iconic\, smaller venues. DepartureATX puts on a high energy rock show\, the way it was intended. Each member of the band holds an impressive musical resume\, from being classically trained to opening for major talent. It’s no surprise then\, that when performing Journey hits\, DepartureATX is known for attention to detail\, but also for adding individual elements of live musical intensity. Audiences will hear not only the best Journey tribute band\, but also other favorite songs from the Arena Rock era’s biggest names to round off a truly unforgettable\, live music experience.

The group has been named “Best Band in Hays County” and “Best Band in Wimberley” by regional publications and is a mainstay at many community events and festivals\, quickly becoming a staple in the Texas Hill Country music scene. The Jesse Stratton Band’s latest release was in October 2021\, an album titled “Family & Friends\,” which includes a number of songs that were inspired by Jesse’s children (Joshua and his three sisters). Although the two of them haven’t officially recorded in the studio together\, Jesse and Joshua are currently releasing videos from a live show they performed together this spring.

DESCRIPTION:John Boyd is the lead singer and founder of the San Antonio-based band 80’s and 90’s tribute band Passing Strangers who have graced the Texas club scene for more than 30 years. They play everything from Jessie’s Girl to Third Eye Blind and are often referred to as “a band version of Spazmatics.” The band is perhaps most well-known for its electronic remake of Gary Wrightʼs “Dream Weaver” from their debut EP “Moment In Time.” This song was a club hit and added to radio across the U.S. and parts of Europe. John Boydʼs voice has been compared to the likes of Jeff Buckley\, and U2’s Bono. Passing Strangers was an active part of the Dallas music community for 14 years\, and the Boulder/Denver music scene for 3 years. After five albums\, two decades of frequent performances\, tours of the U.S.\, and shows overseas\, John returned to the home of his childhood in the San Antonio/Austin area in 2010. In 2013 he teamed up with co-writer and guitarist Ray Tamez\, and producer Mattson Rainer (from KNBT) for his first John Boyd solo album entitled “Passing Strangers and Funny People.”

DESCRIPTION:South Texas born and raised\, Bill Ayers has always had a passion for music. Began singing when he was young\, but didn’t take it seriously until 2008 when he began playing a few small acoustic shows before forming the Bill Ayers Band in 2010. “ I have a big influence from classic country artists such as Jones\, Twitty\, and Strait\, but have always had a soft spot for classic rock and the Texas music scene. It shines through when we perform”. The Bill Ayers Band started in August of 2010. The band’s members are as diversified as the music that they create\, establishing a type of Texas Music that brings people back to the live music scene.
