DESCRIPTION:Join us at Main Plaza to kick off the holiday season with the lighting of beautiful\, downtown New Braunfels and Santa’s arrival! \nAbout\nCome kick off the holiday season with us! Mayor Neal Linnartz will address the crowd at 6:30 p.m. where he will count down and flip the switch\, turning on the dazzling display of lights downtown. After the lights are on\, Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive on a New Braunfels Fire Department fire truck and make his way to the NBU parking lot where families will have a chance to have their photo taken with Santa. The New Braunfels Community Band and the Canyon High School Steel Drum Band will provide entertainment until 8:30 p.m. \nPhotos\nPhotos will take place at the NBU parking lot near Main Plaza. Photos are $10 each\, with the proceeds benefitting the New Braunfels Parks Foundation. Please note that only credit card/debit card payments will be accepted\, and no one will be allowed to enter the line after 8:30 p.m. (those already in line at 8:30 p.m. will still be served). \nFood!\nEnjoy sausage on a stick\, snacks\, and hot chocolate for sale by the New Braunfels Downtown Association! You’ll be making downtown an even better place with every bite.   \nShuttle\nA free shuttle will be available from 5:30-9:30 p.m.  The shuttle will pick up riders at City Hall\, 550 Landa Street\, and drop off at West Mill Street.

DESCRIPTION:Patriotic Parade and Program\nThursday\, July 4\, 2019\n \n9:15 a.m.\, Main Plaza\, Downtown New Braunfels \nFun for the entire family!\nEveryone is welcome to walk or ride! \nParticipants must have a patriotic theme. \nAPPLICATION REQUIRED FOR ENTRY (PDF)\n**$75 entry fee for those campaigning for election or re-election**\nEvent sponsored by the Sophienburg Museum in coordination with the City of New Braunfels and the Parks and Recreation Department. \nParade entries line up in the church parking lot of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church (Bridge and Castell Streets). \nTo enter the parade\, stop by the Sophienburg Museum for an application or download the application. For more information\, please call 830-629-1572. \n8:45 a.m.\nThe Comal Community Band begins performing at the historic bandstand on the Plaza. \n9:15 a.m.\nParade Route: Begins in the Saints Peter and Paul Church parking lot\, goes down Castell Street\, turns left on San Antonio Street\, continues around the Plaza three-fourths of the way\, turns right on Seguin Avenue (between the Courthouse and New Braunfels Coffee). Parade disbands after the Courthouse at Seguin Avenue and Mill Street. Parade vehicles and trailers are to turn left on West Zink Street to reach the Saints Peter and Paul parking lot. Entrants will want to quickly return to the Plaza for the program. \n10:00 a.m.\nPatriotic Program at the Bandstand begins as soon as the parade is over. The program traditionally lasts about an hour and has included the presentation of the colors\, a welcome\, an invocation\, special music\, remarks by New Braunfels city officials\, a benediction\, retiring of the colors and playing of the bells.
