“As New Braunfels grows, so does the Brauntex Theatre which means more of a variety of what is offered to patrons.” says Cheryl Fisher, executive director at the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre. The charming 75 year old “jewel of downtown” has added more shows than in previous years, about 26, and Fisher continued, “we plan on adding a few more before the end of the year.”
The season starts off on October 12 with the renowned Grammy Award‐winning saxophonist and Tony Award nominee, Branford Marsalis, one of the most revered instrumentalists of his time. Many will remember him as the former leader of the Tonight Show Band. He is currently the leader of The Branford Marsalis Quartet, one of the most innovative and forward‐thinking jazz ensembles around today. The Brauntex continues to fulfilled its simple but important mission, “to provide excellent cultural and entertainment experiences,” for the entire Hill Country and Central Texas. “With the Brauntex Theatre being in downtown New Braunfels and the revitalization of the Theatre which began 19 years ago, it’s been an ongoing process to update various aspects of the Theatre,” said Fisher. “We are about to undertake a complete renovation to the Brauntex Theatre parking lot, located behind the building. After that, we will begin a serious effort to address badly needed technical upgrades and improvements to create future opportunities to the Theatre which are currently not available to us.”

The office is located to the left of the main Brauntex entrance at 290 W. San Antonio Street. Patrons requiring special assistance or ADA seating must call the Box Office in advance to check on availability. There is no elevator for balcony seating.
