Two Rivers Plein Air
The New Braunfels Art League presents “Two Rivers Plein Air”Oct 13-18. Artists from around the country will paint scenes of buildings, rivers and landscapes all week. The event will kick off Oct 13 at 2pm at Krauses with a Quick Draw competition. Join us Oct.17th 6-8pm at NBAL for the awards reception. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Enjoy an exclusive Christmas shopping experience at Weihnachtsmarkt, a German-style Christmas Market with a Texas Twist. The market will offer authentic German collectibles and ornaments, unique decorations, specialty items, fabulous gifts, apparel and antiques. Select from a wide array of retail merchants and artisans. Weihnachtsmarkt (Vy-noks-markt) is a vital fundraiser for the Sophienburg Museum & Archives, furthering our mission of Creating Connections and Enriching Lives through the Power of History. All proceeds go to support museum operations and educational programming.

Kaffeeklatsch means “coffee chatter” and is a time to visit over a cup of coffee and a sweet pastry. Come out to try your hand at the German art of Scherenschnitte. Translated “scherenschnitte” means “scissor arts” in English. Spend the afternoon with Bette Spain, an expert in this unique craft. She will guide you through intricate Christmas designs which use single pieces of paper.
