Walt Harfmann, born in St. Louis, Missouri, on the mostly German “south side”. He has played on stage many times with Grammy winner “America’s Polka King” Frank Yankovic, Grammy winner “Canada’s Polka King" Walter Ostanek, as well as many Polka leaders in the USA over the years. His music includes German, Austrian, Czech, Slovenian, Croatian, Swiss, Polkas and Waltzes, Kolos, Boarischers, etc! Having traveled extensively in Europe many times he has added many historic European songs to his list!

The Pivo & Polka Band was formed in the Summer of 2019. The band name explains it all. We like Beer (Czech: Pivo) and Polka Music. Members of the band are from the San Antonio/New Braunfels area. In addition to being professional musicians, we are all full-time music educators. We’ve played events and venues such as Church Services, Christmas Markets, Farmers Markets, and Restaurants.
