What better way to celebrate Texas Independence Day than with a true Texas country singer? Gene Watson was born in Palestine and raised in Paris, Texas. In 1963 he moved to Houston and started performing in local dance halls. By day he worked in an auto body shop. Gary Morris, a native of Ft Worth, has enjoyed a long and successful career in music. He got his start singing in nightclubs when he moved to Denver, Colorado with two college friends. They formed a trio and started singing around town. In 1976 he was hired to perform for Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign. He was discovered by a Nashville agent and signed to a record deal.
