For most, April 15th is equated to taxes. But for New Braunfels, this year’s April 15th will be a celebration of National Bookmobile Day. The New Braunfels Public Library Foundation will soon be purchasing a new bookmobile, and the public is invited to not only come view the plans for the vehicle, but also meet the mobile librarian, Jonathan Margheim. You can grab the details of the event in the press release below.
New Braunfels, Texas — The New Braunfels Public Library will be offering a peek at the plans for the new bookmobile and a chance to meet the new outreach (bookmobile) librarian on Friday, April 15th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the lobby of the main library at 700 E. Common St.
Floor plans and schematic drawings of the bookmobile will be on display. In addition, Jonathan Margheim, Outreach Services Librarian, will be in the lobby and can answer general questions about bookmobiles and mobile library services.
The bookmobile is being purchased by the New Braunfels Public Library Foundation, Inc. through donations raised over the past two years from generous donors, both large and small. It will be donated to the City of New Braunfels upon its arrival in early June.
“The library is delighted to welcome Jonathan to the community and give our residents a chance to meet him. He brings bookmobile experience to our library that will be invaluable to a successful launch of mobile library services,” remarked Library Director Gretchen Pruett. “I hope that many people can come out and give him a warm Texas welcome.”
