The public is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the downtown public restrooms project on Wednesday, October 19th at 11:15 a.m. The event will take place at 401 Main Plaza in historic downtown New Braunfels. The project stemmed from the City of New Braunfels’ Downtown Implementation Plan, which recommended enhancement of the infrastructure downtown to encourage future investment, development and to promote pedestrian traffic in the area.
The New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (4B) is providing up to $470,000 in funding towards the project and $50,000 each will be provided by the Rotary Club of New Braunfels and the Downtown Rotary Club of New Braunfels.“Downtown New Braunfels provides economic and cultural benefits for residents and visitors of New Braunfels and fosters economic development within the city,” said Jeff Jewell, Economic Development Manager for the City of New Braunfels. “This project is a great example of multiple organizations working together for the good of the community.”
The City’s Capital Programs division will manage the project and construction is expected to be completed in late spring of 2017, weather and other factors permitting.
